Café Miami
The days are much longer and there's trees blossoming everywhere. As much as I love London on a sunny day, I'm actually thankful for the bad weather because if metrology worked in our favour I think everyone would move here. During sunny mornings like this the city gains a less frenetic cadence, forcing the Londoners to slow down and appreciate the beauty that, shrouded in winter clouds, tends to go unnoticed. This weekend I accepted the Sun's invitation and went out to explore my city.
Os dias estão mais longos e há árvores em flor por todo o lado a enfeitar a cidade. Por muito que goste de Londres em dias de sol, dou graças ao mau tempo porque se a metrologia trabalhasse em nossos favor julgo que toda a gente se mudaria para cá. Durante manhãs solarengas como esta a cidade ganha uma cadência menos frenética, obrigando os londrinos a desacelerar o passo e apreciar a beleza desta cidade que, envolta em nuvens de inverno, passa despercebida. Este fim-de-semana aceitei o convite que o sol me fez e fui namorar a minha cidade.
In East London, more precisely in Hackney, there is this little restaurant called Café Miami. In there the dishes served are as colourful as the present season of the year. The decor in baby blue and pink turns the space into the cutest and most inviting café of the neighbourhood. In addition, it seems to me that Café Miami is still somewhat unknown, so there are no huge queues or difficulty in getting a table, which is always a plus.
Em East London, mais propriamente no bairro de Hackney, encontrei o Café Miami. Lá dentro os pratos servidos são tão coloridos como a Primavera que acabou de chegar. A decoração em azul e cor-de-rosa bebé faz deste espaço o café mais amoroso e convidativo do bairro. Para além disso parece-me que ainda seja meio desconhecido portanto não há filas imensas ou dificuldade em arranjar mesa, o que é sempre bom.
Several neons and details give the decoration a retro touch. Matching the girly decor, the staff is also all female and very friendly.
Vários neons e apontamentos dão à decoração do espaço um toque retro. A condizer com a decoração feminina o staff é composto apenas por mulheres que são uma simpatia.
Here brunch and delicious toasted sandwiches are served every day at a very reasonable price. It's not just the space that is beautiful everything I had was delicious.
Aqui serve-se brunch todos os dias e também deliciosas sandwiches a um preço bem razoável. Não é só o espaço que é bonito tudo o que provei estava delicioso.
No breakfast is complete without a piece of fruit so I opted for this grilled grapefruit which is so beautiful that I had to photograph separately. I love the minimal symmetry and colour combination of this photo.
Nenhum pequeno-almoço está completo sem uma peça de fruta por isso optei por esta toranja grelhada que não resisti em fotografar em separado. Adoro a simetria e conjugação minimal de cores desta fotografia.
What we ordered:
A hamburger made of waffle, chorizo, avocado, fried egg and hot sauce, a delight I highly recommend. We also ordered the fish finger tacos with guacamole and red cabbage. And, to end this meal on a high note, we went for the oatmeal and banana pancakes with honey and cinnamon. Yummy, yummy!
Para comer pedimos:
Um hambúrguer feito de waffle, chouriço, abacate, ovo estrelado e molho picante, uma delícia que recomendo vivamente.
Pedimos também os tacos de peixe frito, guacamole e couve roxa e para terminar panquecas de aveia e banana com mel e canela.
A meal tastes better whenever shared with someone we love, in this case my company was my childhood friend Alek. / Uma refeição sabe melhor sempre que partilhada com quem mais amamos, neste caso a minha companhia foi a minha amiga de infância Alek.
With a full belly, we walked to the Broadway Market and later we laid down in London Fields where an artist playing an acoustic version of the song "Ex Factor" originally sung by Lauren Hill lulled us into a state of pure happiness. Other visitors surprised by the quality of the voice of this street performer interrupted their conversations and, suddenly, we were in a concert. And that is why, ladies and gentleman, I will never get tired of London ...
De barriga cheia caminhámos até ao Broadway Market e mais tarde deitámo-nos na relva em London Fields onde nos deixámos embalar pelo artista que tocava uma versão acústica da música “Ex Factor” originalmente cantada pela Lauren Hill. Os restantes visitantes surpreendidos pela qualidade da voz deste artista de rua interroperam as suas conversas e, de repente, estávamos num concerto. E é por momentos como este, senhoras e senhores, eu nunca me canserei de Londres...
