Red Valentino - Pre-Spring 2018 collection launch
Last week I went to the Red Valentino pre-spring collection launch. The event took place in their own store in Sloane square, one of the most beautiful and prestigious areas of London, so prestigious that every light pole has its own Christmas tree, crazy right? That's how much of big deal Christmas is in this town. I kind of love how extravagant London looks during the holidays, Christmas is definitely my favourite time of the year!
Although creating younger and more accessible collections than Valentino, Red Valentino fulfills the same values of refinement and elegance as the mother brand. Between Champagne sips and finger food served by the elegant staff I got to see the collection and socialize with the rest of the guests. I took one of my best friends with me, Oxana, because, although fun, I always end up feeling a bit awkward in these events, it's always way more exciting with a friend especially when there's free champagne involved.
Na semana passada fui ao lançamento da coleção pré-primavera da Red Valentino. O evento tomou lugar na própria loja da marca em Sloane square, umas das zonas mais bonitas e prestigiadas de Londres, tão prestigiada que cada poste de luz tem a sua própria árvore de natal durante esta altura do ano, crazy right? Isto é prova do quão é levado ao extremo o Natal por aqui. Eu admito que até gosto desta extravagância Londrina durante a época natalícia, esta é definitivamente a minha altura preferida do ano!
Apesar de criar coleções mais jovens e acessíveis do que a Valentino, a Red Valentino cumpre os valores de requinte e elegância da marca mãe. Entre goles de champagne e petiscos servidos pelo elegante staff fui namorando a coleção e socializando com os restantes convidados. Levei comigo uma das minhas melhores amigas, a Oxana, porque apesar de divertidos estes eventos acabam por ser um tanto ou quanto constrangedores na minha opinião, é sempre mais divertido levar uma amiga especialmente quando há Champagne à mistura.
Do these pink armchairs look familiar to you? You probably saw them several times already because they are the same ones designed by India Mahdavi for the instafamous Sketch restaurant!
Estes cadeirões cor-de-rosa parecem-te familiares? Provavelmente já os viste várias vezes porque são os mesmos desenhados por India Mahdavi para o instafamoso restaurante Sketch!
These knitted dresses are a Red Valentino classic, I find them adorable!
Estes vestidos de malha já são um clássico da marca, que amorosos!
Throughout the night the artist Jo Bird did sketches for the guests. As you can imagine I did not want to miss out on the opportunity of being drawn by her. I wish I had taken photos of Oxana while hers was being done, but of course, as photographer, she chose to pose for Jo with the camera so that it could be in the illustration as well.
Ao longo da noite a artista Jo Bird foi fazendo ilustrações dos convidados, e eu também não quis perder a oportunidade de ser desenhada por ela. Gostava ter tirado umas fotos da Oxana enquanto a dela estava a ser feita mas claro que, como fotógrafa que é, escolheu posar com a máquina de modo a que o seu objecto preferido também fizesse parte da ilustração.
